OKANAGAN HOCKEY ACADEMY CONTINUES TO UNRAVEL

How's this for damage control? OHS recruiter Fred Dobransky retires..

Fred quit on OHS. He was tired of the direction they were going and knew when something was spinning into an ego run organization. The main man praising him, is also the same guy that Fred dislikes the most. If anyone actually calls Fred, he's not retired, he's still working for Global Showcase and now that he's not with OHS, the Westside Warriors scooped him up to scout for them. How is it that he's announcing his retirement this summer, when he quit in February? Anyone that actually doubts it, call Fred. Not only did he quit but immediately his grandson was told he had to pay, so he left OHA. This is damage control at it's best. I seriously urge anyone to call Fred. He will tell you that he quit, they tried to brIng him back and he refused.

Fred's a great guy. It's another loss for OHA/OHS

Along with Bill Rotheisler. The guy regularly got told to pick up players, even in Andy's vehicle, then he gets fired for driving a van without the proper licence. Something Alan has done for years. It' great when he runs out to get coffee using a van for a guy that is the one to fire him. How's that for accountability.Sure it's fine to know he's going when he's getting you a coffee, but then turn around and fire him? That's disappointing to see from Blake Wesley. Even more disappointing that Andy knew about the licence situation from the start and still fired him. I do find it funny though that the new Lakers coach wanted to coach with Bill. The guy will wind up coaching somewhere he gets the respect that any human being deserves.

I know all this because I played there, still keep in touch with a lot of people. When I was there it was nothing like it is now. The offices were just the run down things, not the new ones and new gym. I had a great time there, don't get me wrong, but it's changed a lot over the last few years, and not in a good way. As for the last comment, call Fred. You heard wrong. He has no involvement with them at all.

Blog owner please start a new thread on this ...

OHA has now stolen Curt Lasar a top WHL drafted player(#2 overall) from the well respected POE program by offering his family a free ride(no fees at all) to attend OHA. This is about as low as you can go in my opinion and shows just how far the ownership has stooped in an effort to save the program.
If you talk "development" then just how is the OHA going to develop such a player when he will be practicing with low level team mates? What OHA has stooped to by doing this is a crme, and it's not going to be a positive experience for this young man.

I am a good friend of Freddy. He has stood by my son for a number of years. He is the reason we keep comming back to OHA every year. The kids all talk about him and will be greatly missed. Good pick up for Westside.Billy is a great guy and know he will be sucessfull in whatever he does. OHA needs to listen to the kids. Ask them what they want and like. Only good thing there is Mr Dirk. He is a first class gentleman. I will never bash OHA as it was a great place for our kids to attend. I just hope they understand that they lost some important people. Im saddened to hear all this.
