ALAN KERR FIRED AS PORT ALBERNI BULLDOGS GM!

We would really like to get to the bottom of this story. Okanagan Hockey Academy has claimed Alan Kerr has returned to Penticton as part of their long range coaching plan to develop the younger age groups. Kerr was arguably the worst coach in Bulldog history for favouring his son, James Kerr, with copious amounts of ice time at the detriment of the development of other players.  How many head coaches in the BCHL are permitted to coach their own sons? Shouldn't this nonsense end at PeeWee level?

Kerr was fired from the Bulldogs as GM and James Kerr was immediately traded.

Kerr is now in Penticton working with the OHA Major Midget team which includes his younger boy Nicholas and a nephew, Chris Kerr. How strong are the blood lines when it comes to favouritism? Is Kerr up to his same bag of tricks?

I can't say what Kerr is doing now but it is true about the Bulldogs. He was sued and he lost. It's a bit tricky since he's an owner of the Bulldogs but they managed to get rid of him thank God.

Also how many Jr A programs do you know where they let the coaches sons be on the same team. It's no different than mites or adam. Alan could not help himself and he played the living snot out of James. Everything said here is absolutely true.

James is a nice kid. It's not exactly like he has control over who his father is. It was best for him to be traded. Alan's behaviour left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

Well my son plays for oha and we knew that Alan was only going to Port Alberni for 1 year. In a perfect world everyones kids will get equal ice time. In the NHL the players who work hardest get the most Ice time. James is the hardest working player that I have seen. Do I think that means he should be on the ice steady?
I guess that depends on how hard they work. Some people will never be happy anywhere. I don't know of any organization that everthing runs 100 % perfect there will always be a few hiccups.

Absolutely ridiculous, a coach getting sued for playing a kid too much. That's about as false and made up as it gets. I love how these clowns do this, put some ridiculous statement up with no backing.

The lawsuit was played out in a Vancouver court. Kerr lost the lawsuit. It was brought by someone within the Port Alberni organization, also a parent of a player. Kerr lost the lawsuit and James was immediately traded as a result and Kerr lost his status within the program.

Ask Mr Kerr who sued him and why. Last summer he took numerous trips to Vancouver to attend court over the matter. It is public information so call the courts in Vancouver if you want detail.

If you want to base anything on fact, then take a look at what your talking about. Alan's legal issues were for something unrelated to hockey and he was not the defendant. There is no law against any coach for over playing a kid, and certainly no law that forces a team to trade a player or remove a coach. This is as ridiculous and made up as it gets.

You are all RETARDED (suffering of severe mental disabilities and delusions of grandeur)!

WRONG FACTS! Here's the TRUTH:

1- He was in court for a completely different reason outside of hockey.

2- An owner of a hockey academy would not fire himself! He moved to Penticton on his own accord.

Wow, where do you get off?!

James Kerr is the most focussed young athlete and student that I have ever seen. His intelligence and focus have landed him at one of the best schools in North America.
As for Alan, he's a great motivator. Ask his athletes, not the parents. I have watched him inspire an athlete who is not even a hockey player, which resulted in a top postion in the event.
It seems to me as someone who is outside of the hockey world .. that comments such as some that I have seen here, quite possibly come from people who need a better perspective on life.. and the game.
