OKANAGAN HOCKEY ACADEMY: THE COACH SHUFFLE

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs President Andy Oakes is pleased to announce the appointment of Bryant Perrier as the teams New General Manager.

“Obviously our organization is not happy with the teams current record and a change needed to happen in order to get the team on the right track. This is a move made to improve the structure of the organization. Bryant has been given the role as we feel given the right responsibility and accountability he will get the team turned in the right direction. “

“I would like to thank Alan Kerr for his effort and energies as the teams General Manager over the last year and a half.” Andy Oakes, President.

4 days later James Kerr was traded to the Vipers in "fairness" management said.

So they take the guy with a losing record, an owner, and shuffle him over to the development program in Penticton, BC.  This feels a lot like the Catholic Church.

Actually, as bad a GM as Kerr may seem, the fact is that Bryant Perrier was pre-determined to take over in Alberni anyway. He knew that when he left the Kamloops Storm.
Kerr probably wanted to be there with his kid (usually a big mistake at that level of hockey).

My son is on the AAA1 team with Robert Dirk. He is a good coach and my son is learning a lot. My chief complaint is that most of the money and development are concentrated on the top team with Alan Kerr. They've played nearly twice the number of games and they travel constantly. It's obvious our funds are funding the top team and the development of the Kerr clan.

We will not return next year unless they guarantee my son a spot on the same team as the Kerr boys. I will not participate in the funding of the top team again.

at OHA the teams are overcrowded with 24 boys each team. At least 5 kids are sat each game. The tuition is outrageous! I agree that all the money goes to the top team.

So what was Kerr sued for? What happens to Alberni now? Are the new coaches/staff people you would trust with your son?

I heard Kerr was sued for playing his kid too much and not developing the others. The minute he lost the lawsuit, they traded his son to Vernon.

I think they should have 20 players max per team for the dollars we spend

24 players per team and many kids sitting out the games. It's not acceptable. Local boys and friends of the Kerr family get big discounts on tuition while other families pay top dollar. One local Pen family is a single parent, friend of Kerr and her kid marches effortlessly to the top team. Don't kid yourselves about tryouts, its such a farce.

We've know Kerr a long time. He's a rat. He putzed around the NHL primarily as a goon. In Gretzky's book he comes right out and says he hated Kerr more than any other player in the NHL. He comes across as a nice guy and is a good scam artist and glad to take your money in the promotion of his own family and friends. He doesn't live in a 2 million dollar home on what he made while smucking around the NHL. Where do you think the money comes from? It's not hard to figure out. He'd rather lie to you even if telling the truth was easier.

Kerr was forced to leave Alberni after being caught miss-behaving in the concession. His "firing" was another farce.
Then Perrier gets himself in trouble off ice also. What a bunch of classless, womanizing pirates this OHA is.
